Strategic sourcing, supply chain management and product development in China and Vietnam.

I have over 20 years of engineering, project management and product development experience with primary focus on injected plastics, fabricated metals, PCBA’s, electrical & mechanical components and other custom engineered components. Based full-time in South China since 2003, I help my clients find and manage suppliers in China & Vietnam.

Before starting “B. Garvin Sourcing”, I was a senior manager responsible for product development with a major German manufacturer in China. My role involved interfacing directly with our client, Apple, to develop and launch consumer electronics and traditional soft goods. Before my involvement with the Apple supply chain, I was a sourcing specialist at PassageMaker and led a team responsible for sourcing 100’s of different products from 1000’s of suppliers.

“B. Garvin Sourcing” is a boutique firm serving as a buying agent in China & Vietnam. I only take on a few new projects each month as I will personally be involved in every aspect of the sourcing to ensure my clients receive the best price, quality, lead-time and service. SERVICES AND FEE STRUCTURE

I provide on-the-ground project management for my clients who are doing business with China & Vietnam. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing, supply chain management, engineering, QC, product development and even selling to China.

I charge a small upfront fee to review the project and create a strategy to achieve the client’s desired goals. Once the strategy is in place, a commission (between 3 and 10%) is applied to the value of goods or services I am managing on your behalf. The larger the project, the smaller the commission.

How do I keep my fees low? No fancy offices, slick marketing or large teams. I personally take the lead on each and every project. I am supported by a small but well-trained team of Chinese associates.

We service clients large and small. For each product line we would charge a few 1000 USD upfront for the strategic project planning, plus a small commission on the orders. I am responsible to ensure the agreed product ships on time at the desired quality. I will find and manage the vendors in a transparent fashion. Clients are informed of all supply chain details such as vendor’s identity and pricing. Client is responsible for the costs of production, shipping and applicable duties into their destination market. I do not provide project finance and receive my commissions at pre-agreed project gates.
